1. If you were not able to hear this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. Read 1 Corinthians 15:1-11. Identify and discuss the important points of the gospel Paul delivered to the Corinthians. Identify the resurrection appearances of Jesus Christ. What makes His appearances so important?

3. Read 1 Corinthians 15:12-19. If there was no resurrection from the dead, what would be the consequences? Read 1 Corinthians 15:20-23. Since it is a fact that Christ did rise from the dead, how does His resurrection benefit you?

4. Read 1 Corinthians 15:35-42 and discuss what Paul had in mind by using the illustrations of sowing seeds and kinds of bodies to refer to the resurrection of the dead?

5. Read 1 Corinthians 15:42-44. Discuss the contrast between the earthly body and the resurrected body. What makes these contrasts so encouraging to true believers?

6. Read 1 Corinthians 15:45-50. Discuss the difference between the first Adam and the last Adam. How has the last Adam encouraged you in the promise of the resurrection of your body?

7. Read 1 Corinthians 15:51-57. What was the mystery the Apostle Paul spoke about in these verses? What is the meaning of the saying that is written, “Death is swallowed up in victory” (cf. Isaiah 25:8), “O death, where is your victory?” (cf. Hosea 13:14), “O death, where is your sting?”

8. Read 1 Corinthians 15:58. Discuss the Apostle Paul’s closing challenge to the Corinthian church. How can these principles be applied to our lives as we consider the doctrine of the resurrection of the body?
