1. If you were not at this week’s service, consider going to the church website and listening to the sermon. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. What does it mean that God’s ways and plans are perfect? What is the standard by which God’s ways are judged perfect? Have you ever struggled with the plan of God in your life? Explain.

3. How does the character and nature of God impact the quality of His ways, plans and purposes? When a person questions God’s ways, what are they expressing about their view of God’s nature and attributes (His goodness, knowledge, wisdom, etc.)?

4. How do the last two verses of Chapter 11 relate to the opening of Chapter 12? What common words or ideas are present in the introduction and conclusion of Chapter 11? How does the end of Chapter 11 prepare us for the first few verses in Chapter 12?

5. Do you believe God rewards faithfulness (cf. Hebrews 11:6)? What is the source of our faith in God? Is it accurate and proper to refer to faith as ours (cf. Ephesians 3:12; Hebrews 12:2; 1 John 5:4)? Describe a person’s responsibility and part for faithfulness to God.

6. Read Isaiah 55:6-9 and describe how God’s ways are higher than ours. What does it mean that God’s thoughts are not our thoughts? How do the thoughts of man differ from God’s? Is it possible for us to have the thoughts of God? Explain.

7. What does the Bible mean when it says Christians are perfect in Christ (cf. Colossians 2:9-10)? How has perfection been granted to us through Christ (cf. Hebrews 10:12-14)? Do you struggle with feeling as though you are complete in Christ? Can you rightly say that Christ alone is all you need? Explain.
