May 11, 2025 - The Fruit of the Spirit: Love (2)

Galatians 5:16-25

Life Group Questions

1. If you were not at this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. Do you think that humans are naturally capable of loving (cf. Ephesians 2:1-6)? How does love being designated as a fruit of the Spirit help us understand love’s source? Does God give the fruit of the Spirit to the unsaved? Explain your answers.

3. Read John 17:1-26 and list at least three observations about love. How does Christian unity testify about the person of Christ (cf. vvs. 22-23)? Do you think that God the Father loves us as much as His Son (cf. vvs. 23, 26)? Why would He?

4. What evidence is there that God has poured His love into our hearts (cf. Romans 5:5)? How does this act of God relate to the New Covenant (cf. Jeremiah 31; Luke 22:20)?

5. Describe how God’s love influences us (cf. 2Corinthians 5:14). How should the fact that we can never be separated from the love of God in Christ give us security and confidence (cf. Romans 8:31-39)? Describe how the love of God knits us together as Christians (cf. Colossians 2:1-3).

6. Read Ephesians 3:14-21 and meditate on this prayer’s content. Take some time to petition God to answer this prayer in your life and in the life of our church.
