1. If you were not able to hear this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What are some main ideas that you gathered from the sermon? What, if any, questions did the sermon cause for you or do you desire to have additional clarification?

2. Have you noticed that traditional and biblical womanhood has been under attack by our culture and world? Explain your thoughts on how the feminist movement and even gender issues have affected the understanding of womanhood.

3. Read Genesis 1-2. Describe the woman’s position of honor as described by this section of Scripture. Why is it important for us to regard womanhood with honor? How do both men and women serve as bearers of God’s image?

4. In Proverbs 31:10-31, he painted for us a picture of the virtuous woman. What stands out to you about the woman described in this passage? Describe a woman whom you’ve known as a virtuous woman.

5. How does the ability to bear children bring honor to women (cf. 1 Corinthians 11:11-12)? How does the thought that our Savior, Jesus Christ, was born of a woman bring honor to women (cf. Genesis 3:15; Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:39; Galatians 4:4)?

6. What was Jesus’ attitude toward women as depicted in the following passages: John 4:7-27; John 8:2-11; Mark 14:3-9; Matthew 27:55-56? Why do you think the Gospels remind us that women were present at the crucifixion, burial and resurrection of Christ?

7. How does the title joint-heirs of Christ add honor to women (cf. 1 Peter 3:7)? Read Galatians 3:23-29 and describe Paul’s statement that there is no longer “male or female.” Have gender categories been discarded through Christ? Explain.

8. Read Titus 2:1-5 and 1 Peter 3:3-4 and ask the Lord how he wants you to apply this instruction to your life. What areas do you need to grow in? How has God gifted you to help others grow in these areas?
