1. If you were not at this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. Read Acts 2:1-13. What is the meaning of “the day of Pentecost?” What does it mean to be “filled with the Holy Spirit?” What is your understanding of the Apostles speaking “in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance?” [Acts 2:4]

3. Read Acts 2:14-21. How did the Apostle Peter correct the crowd who were mocking the arrival of the Holy Spirit? How did the Apostle Peter defend what happened at the arrival of the Holy Spirit? [Joel 2:28-32]

4. Read Acts 2:22-36. Define how the Apostle Peter informed the crowd that they were guilty of crucifying Jesus of Nazareth. What was God’s response to the crucifying of Jesus? What was the Apostle Peter’s purpose for using Psalm 16:8-11 and Psalm 110:1 in his sermon?

5. Read Acts 2:37. What does it mean that some in the crowd “were cut to the heart?” What do you think caused them to be “cut to the heart?” Read John 16:8, Hebrews 4:12, Jeremiah 23:29. How would you define the conviction of the Holy Spirit in your life?

6. Read Acts 2:38-39. What does it mean to repent and be baptized? [Acts 3:19, Acts 8:22, 2Corinthians 7:10, Acts 8:12, 26-39, Acts 9:1-20, Acts 16:25-34] When is a genuine born again, Spirit-filled believer placed into the body of Christ? [1Corinthians 12:13, 27] How important is believer’s baptism to the local Church [Matthew 3:16; 28:19-20, Luke 3:21, Romans 6:1-14]?

7. Read Acts 2:40-41. What are the three points the Apostle Peter gave for membership in the Church?

8. Read Acts 2:42-47. What were the commitments of the new members in the Church? What are some benefits and blessing of membership in Macedonia Church?
