1. If you were not able to hear this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What are some main ideas that you gathered from the sermon? Do you have any questions?

2. What does it mean to give glory to God (cf. Psalm 96:7-9; 86:8-10; Romans 4:20-21)? What are some specific ways in which we can glorify God? Do you consider your life to be glorifying God? Explain.

3. How does God’s creation declare the glory of God (cf. Psalm 19)? How does proclaiming the Gospel and God’s Kingdom bring glory to God (cf. Matthew 24:14)?

4. Do you think luck, chance or coincidence are acceptable Christian concepts (cf. Proverbs 16:33; Matthew 17:27; Ephesians 1:11)? Read Romans 8:28-30 and describe the extent of God’s involvement in the Christian’s life.

5. What does this passage teach us about reverence for God? Why do you think God killed the individuals who merely looked upon the Ark of the Covenant? What does it mean to reverence God and treat Him as holy (cf. Leviticus 10:1-3; 19:2)?

6. Do you think God accepted the offering of the Philistines? Are the actions of God in this passage an endorsement of the Philistines? Explain why or why not.
